Sometimes I put a bit of acrylic paint on the page with the gesso for some mixed texture and color. With your second spread you have found you really don't have to use the gesso to get a nice page. Mixing the two will help keep your book from getting too fat to close!

Nice drawing of your virtual scene! Hope you have fun with your granddaughter and your mother.Timareehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15769047120660859743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514699531408935998.post-76859093125984194562012-06-20T13:56:17.883-04:002012-06-20T13:56:17.883-04:00I'm not confident in my drawing abilities so I...I'm not confident in my drawing abilities so I do a sketch in pencil first and then ink. I really like the looks of sketches in ink and watercolor, but the moleskine doesn't take WC well. You could do colored pencils, though, if you want to add some color. Looks very nice.

I've never tried image transfers. Sounds complicated...but looks pretty. Hope the haircut goes well and you enjoy your sketching while you're away.

I am playing with water-soluble mixed media today. Will post pictures either tomorrow or Friday. New techniques and mediums are exciting...and a learnng process, for me. :)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02043285884495492598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514699531408935998.post-27830097157138491262012-06-20T11:06:56.149-04:002012-06-20T11:06:56.149-04:00I really like the composition of that drawing very...I really like the composition of that drawing very much. I agree that a single line might not be enough to convey the curve, but you might want to experiment with broken lines, instead, so that the eye supplies the missing parts. Anyway, what you've got there looks pretty good to me!Boudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00641013916263271948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-514699531408935998.post-89778188692626085982012-06-20T08:49:28.986-04:002012-06-20T08:49:28.986-04:00The virtual travel drawing in ink is really good! ...The virtual travel drawing in ink is really good! I don't mind all the curved lines, and I think using just 1 might be confusing. The altered book is coming along nicely, too. Stay cool today! I'll miss you .... I'll have an empty chair on both sides of me today! hugs, nancynanke's stuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11597989427187199295noreply@blogger.com
