AEDM-Day 3

I was so taken by the full moon yesterday morning that I decided to draw it. I began on dark blue card stock and drew in the moon and the clouds across it. But when it was time to add the bare trees, I decided to try digital instead (Silly me, I still think I have to draw exactly what I saw instead of my rendition of it.). I will post my "by hand" painting when it is finished. For now, here is my digital version:

I received several comments yesterday asking to see patterns made with my drawings. I was happy to comply. But you see, once I begin making patterns, I cannot stop. I hope you won't be disappointed in these as I had great fun making them and am quite pleased with how they turned out.

I am expecting a pretty day today, at least according to the weather widget I have on my computer it is going to be sunny and chilly. The baby will be here around 10:30 this morning and then the bus will have to be met to pick up the first grader. I am meeting my Statistics tutee in Jackson around 4 and am hoping to pop into Michaels with a coupon I have, which I'd like to share with you.

I'm off to make art so that I can accomplish my self-imposed challenge of making art every day in November.

AEDM-Day 2

Have you looked out at the full moon yet? What a glorious sight! I think that my art to post tomorrow will have to include the moon as I first glimpsed it this morning - huge, yellow-orange, low in the sky with clouds across it and bare trees between me and it.

For today I drew a couple of barnyard birds that I rather like. What do you think? I love the one on the bottom. He reminds me of a cartoon rooster from my childhood whose name I can't remember, except the cartoon character was quite a bit chubbier. I think his name was something Leghorn or something Foghorn?? It will come to me some time soon perhaps in a dream and then I will share it with you. I am thinking it was Foghorn Leghorn! Does that resonate with anyone?

I am also guilty of playing with patterns in Photoshop again. It seems to make me forget this nagging pain in my shoulder/arm. I hope you don't gag quit reading when you see that I am still producing patterns instead of moving on to something new.

I am thinking maybe I should make a pattern from one of my drawings. That would be so much more original, don't you think? Maybe I will play with that idea a bit today.

For now, I'm off to refill my mug with coffee and go to Google Reader to read the blogs to which I subscribe (sorry that sounds so "hi-falutin", but I didn't want to end the sentence with to.)
