The Furnace is Still Running

And it is April 21. I cannot afford this long winter.

Little Miss 3 will be arriving in about 45 minutes and before she arrives I wanted to share with you a bit of art that she did yesterday. It wasn't that long ago that she was asking me to draw things for her and now look what she can do on her own.

I was impressed and told her so. She posed with her finished picture and told me I could have it to put on my refrigerator.

It is a good thing I got 12 hours of sleep the night before last because I only got about 3 last night. I just happened to notice the clock as I was thinking about turning in for the night last night and it was just after 2 am. I haven't been up at the hour in a long time, so I decided to take advantage of the "free" download time hughesnet allows between 2 am and 7 am. I downloaded some large updates and some fun stuff and by the time I was done it was 3:45 and I woke up at 7. I decided to get up and make coffee since my little darling is due soon and I want to be awake and ready for her.

The roll of Tyvek that I ordered a few days ago arrived yesterday. I have a huge crossword puzzle dictionary that is my Mom's favorite. She has a really hard time handling it because of the size and hers has fallen apart and some of the pages have gone missing. I am planning to cut mine into 3 smaller segments and cover each one with Tyvek and take it to her for Mothers' Day. I will show you what I am doing and how it is going when I get started, hopefully tomorrow. I don't think I have the girls tomorrow and should be able to jump right into that project. Maybe I will get a couple of books made, too.

For now, I'd better get a couple of cups of coffee into this system and perk up!!

Thanks for visiting; it is always nice to "see" you.

xoxo

Brrrr!

Lots of schools closed this morning here in south central Michigan. I'm sure glad I don't have to go anywhere today.

I went to the doctor yesterday with fever and chills on top of the barking cough. He suspects some kind of influenza, but wrote bronchitis and some other word that I couldn't read on the paperwork. He had his nurse give me a shot in the bum (he said it was to keep this from going to pneumonia) and wrote two prescriptions, one for cough medicine and one for an antibiotic. The cough medicine is killer. I got home around 1 pm, took my medicine and slept until 6:30. I went back to bed around 8:30 and slept until 7:30 this morning. I haven't slept through the night in weeks.

I didn't get any art done yesterday. I thought about doodling while waiting at the doctor's office, but just dozed in my chair. I'll try to get something done today. But I may just sleep.

Meanwhile, here is a little something I just put together this morning. It is made using my paper stash and Martha's elephant template.

I'm feeling a little sleepy and I am not supposed to operate machinery while taking this medicine, so I'd better get off this computer (teehee).

I'll do some art after I nap a bit.

I am Still Here

Boy, things have been rough around here lately. The hubster is sick, the daughter is sick, the baby is just getting over being sick and still has a cough and runny nose. That means that I am not getting much art time these days.

I did spend some time yesterday while the baby was napping and made some ATC cards for a private swap. The person swapping said she likes unicorns, elephants, parrots and dancers. I find I much prefer hand drawn cards rather than collaged ones and hope she likes these.

I have also been trying to drawing something everyday. I haven't been posting them every day because some days I just don't get time to post and other days I don't think they are worthy of posting. That doesn't mean that I think the ones I do post are spectacular in any way, but I do think they show some growth in my drawing skill. I would still like to learn about shading and gesture drawing. I will have to keep my ear to the ground and see if I can find a class. I have read many library books, but think that in this instance I need more than I can do myself using a book.

I am coughing a bit as I type this and find it hurts my abs, my chest and upper back. It is a good pain, though. It means that my workout yesterday really did something. In the morning I did my upper body workout with my 5 lb weights and then did the uphill 30 minutes on the treadmill. Later in the day, I got out my balance and did a core workout with Cathe and then did her stretch on the ball. What a great workout!

I haven't been getting much sleep lately, so I have got to finish up and get to bed. As for you, don't forget to live in the moment!
