Virtual Paintout and Altered Book

Whenever I use the "little yellow man" in Google maps to "walk" around a region of the world, I can't seem to stop myself. I keep wanting to explore and find more. I wasn't really satisfied with the little painting I did from Latvia yesterday, so I went exploring there again and decided to try another.

I drew this with Sharpie fine pens.

And another

I am also working in the altered book, but have changed the cover a bit so that a theme is not apparent. I wasn't really satisfied with the choice I'd made and still don't know exactly what it is going to be, but I am having fun with the play.

I think that white circle must be a bit of gesso that got dripped on it.

Here is the beginning of a two-page spread using gesso with a bit of Hansa yellow acrylic paint. I've adhered a bit of a paper napkin to the corner of the right hand page.

The darkness at the top of the right hand page is a clip to hold the curled edge in place for the photo.

I need to go to the credit union today and then maybe to Leo's for lunch - they have the best sweet potato fries! ZoĆ« will be coming to spend the night so I need to do a bit of picking up, vacuuming, and sweeping. And the treadmill surely needs a good hour workout today.

What do you have planned for today?

xoxo
