I'm Almost Back - CED2009

Well, I am almost back. My knees have been much better today - not pain free - I have iced them twice today and am still taking ibuprofen for the inflammation, but I am not wearing a brace, just being extremely careful. I won't be going for a walk yet, but am getting closer.

Today is the first time I've felt like doing anything in my art room in a long time. I guess I have been mildly depressed - constant pain will do that to you.

I almost made up for it today. I did a 2 page spread in my art journal using lots of positive words and phrases and made myself doodle on it a bit. I am trying to work up to trying a henna/zentangle page some time soon.

I also did a color wheel for my watercolor class with primary, secondary and tertiary colors on it. And just finished 7 practice washes for the same class.

I printed out the backs for my winter themed skinny book pages and hope to get them in the mail tomorrow or Tuesday and then start on my Wacky Packages. So far I am leaning toward making fun of Relacore and 7-Up for 2 of the 3.

I am trying hard to ignore the pain and lose myself in my art and for the most part it works. Unfortunately, getting up from sitting for a long time is excruciatingly painful, so I am going to move out to the living room and try icing one more time. I think hockey is on, so my plan is fitting, don't you think?

As for you, don't forget to live in the moment!

  1. The journal page is great. So glad you have managed to be productive creatively and that your leg is feeling a teensy bit better. Hugs.

  4. Good going - nice pages. When we feel bad is the hardest time to show up at "the page" but it can lead to the most important breakthroughs, sometimes. I'm so glad you are feeling some better, and I hope that rapidly improves!
