Housecleaning and Blind Contour Friday

My sister-in-law (who truly feels more like an actual sister) is coming tomorrow to go to the baby shower (my newest grandgirl is due in late February) and is staying overnight so the hubster and I are doing a good house cleaning. I don't have overnight company much, but it is a great incentive to finally do all the cleaning.

I am mostly done, just waiting to dust after everything settles from vacuuming. I took this opportunity to come into my work room and do a blind contour. I tried this time to do it without lifting my pen, but it looks like I did lift it to do the feet. I am going to try to get to the point where I don't lift my pen at all. The sketch next to it is somewhat of a blind sketch. I can't see the bear across the table with my glasses on and I can't see my sketchbook in front of me without my glasses. I did this without my glasses on and it was a bit difficult.

I hear the dryer blatting (I may have made up that word) and the kitchen floor is dry by now, so I need to get out and help the hubster put the table and chairs back and then I can finish the vacuuming.

I wonder what is for breakfast??

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I will try to have some wonderful new things to show you on Monday.

xoxo

  2. The bears look great! It's good to have overnite company every now and again to get the house cleaned (as you know our company was here last weekend). That's when I really clean - when company comes. Have a great weekend, and I'll see you Monday! hugs, nancy

  3. Hi Vicki, I like your drawings! Wonderful shapes in your bear. It's nice to be able to take a short break during house cleaning to do something fun, like drawing :). It's interesting that you drew the bear the second time without glasses on. Do you think it helped you focus on the big shapes?

  4. OH there's nothing like having a visitor to get us cleaning furiously. haha, I need to get visitors more often ;-) Love your contour drawings, they are great. Hope the shower goes really well.

  5. I hate it when the dryer BLATS! We just got a new washer - not as good as the old one, because it doesn't walk across the garage. I had that glasses problem - now I have trifocals (don't tell anyone).

  6. Sorry I haven't been around much lately; things have been keeping me busy, but I can't tell exactly what yet. That will be a surprise!

Excellent post. I have missed reading up on these daily. Your blind contours are really coming along nicely and I laughed as I read about the glasses. I'm not into bifocals yet, but I'm pretty blind. Let's just say there is no danger whatsoever of me driving without corrective lenses...I'd never find the car! LOL
