Miss K and I had a lovely 2+ days at my Mom's and were able to visit lots of family. She even got to feed the pigs and gather eggs at Maggie and Jeff's and is anxious for the next visit. The trip home was uneventful and when we arrived it wasn't long before my son arrived to pick up Miss K and drop off Miss Z. We had her for two overnights and she is such a changed little person. We used to marvel that she was always happy and took everything in stride. We never saw her cry. All that has changed! She is addicted to Yo Gabba Gabba and asks for it a hundred times a day and while sometimes I will put it on (I've recorded it), a couple of times is enough. She pitched such an awful fit that I put her in the Pack N Play for about 3 minutes and let her cry. She is just 18 months, but I think the "terrible 2s" has reared its ugly head. Here she is watching and dancing.
I did find just a little time while Miss Z was napping or in bed for the night to play in my art journal. Here are a few pages in progress.
My eyes have been running awfully since my visit up north. I don't know if it is allergies? but it is awful and I am tired of it.
I will go to my conditioning class this morning and then go back to the yoga class at 7 this evening. I was sore for two days from the last time at yoga and can't wait to go back. I am hoping to try the Pilates class at the same place tomorrow evening.
I am hoping to begin a new watercolor today, but have to have a plan this time. I think I will do some value sketches first and then get a drawing down before jumping in.
What do you have planned for the day? Does it include time to be creative? Do you have something to share? I'd love to see it...
xoxo

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Yo Gabba Gabba .... if it's that much fun, maybe I should get it! Did you make the crane stamp? Your journal pages are really fun! hugs, nancy
ReplyDeleteLove your journal pages, they look such fun and show that you have enjoyed doing them. Good luck with the little Miss and her tantrums, even from the photo you can tell here is a girl with attitude! lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of Miss Z!
ReplyDeleteI was in my studio all morning, then had to go to town for a doctor's appointment. After I do the school run, I'll head back out to the studio for a couple more hours--Lots of "art time"!
Great pages Vicki. It's wonderful to get the time to play and you 'Played Good'. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVicki--yes, we are all back in school here. Jenny is a seventh grader at our little K-8 school, Katie is senior at the high school in town, Joel is a sophomore in college, and hubby is the principal of the other high school in town--I'm the only one not in school, so it's pretty quiet around here during the day! Just me and the (5) dogs--and the (5) cats--and the two horses...
ReplyDeleteLovely pages! Isn't it funny how they can have an almost total personality change when they hit certain ages. Well, not so funny, I guess. ;) Glad you got some art time in. Have a super week! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Yo Gabba Gabba either, it must be Rap for Toddlers? My daughter was one to pitch hysterical fits if she didn't get her way...started about 18 mod. continued thru the Terrible Twos with mounting drama which continued thru pre teen years...OMG! I don't know how I survived that child. She was such a drama queen we named her Sarah Heartburn!
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteThat little Miss K is such a doll. It must be hard to say "no" to her. I love your art journals. Looks like so much fun. I think it's great you are doing yoga. I used to. You'll be glad you did.
It's more strenuous than one would think. I'm planning on getting back to it soon. Jane Young (EDM)
Love the creativity in your journals. Interesting post.
