Another Cloudy Day

But the forecast promises warmer and sunny for the next four days. I am quite ready, except because I am so fair that restricts my time outside to early morning and early evening, but I really don't mind. I love to see the sun even if I can't be out in it.

I spent an hour and a half in the gym again this morning. I did the hill setting on the treadmill for half an hour and then did two circuits of the weight training machines and then did another half hour on the treadmill on the weight loss setting. I also did some hanging leg raises. The only thing is I am getting a blister on the inside of my left foot. I've had that happen before at home, so have a piece of moleskin at that spot in my walking shoes. I think that means that tomorrow I will confine myself to the bike, stepper, elliptical and ab stations.

Later today we are meeting my sister and her husband and going to McGuire's Irish Pub in Penscola for a late lunch. I think I am going to try the Lamb Stew. I think we are going to try lunch in the new Margaritaville Beach Hotel for Valentine's Day. So far my favorite thing here is the gumbo at Native Cafe. I call it Naive Cafe because from afar the "t" doesn't show up well. It is right across the street. We might try breakfast there some morning. They only serve breakfast and lunch.

I tried my hand at sketching the plate of fresh fruit on the table. I keep lots of fruit around. It is particularly good after a hard workout. For what it is worth, here it is:

I have a couple of pix from our walk in Pensacola the other day. I wanted to get more pictures of the heron, but a visitor with a dog let the dog get too close and it flew away.

I tried this and could do it, but not for as long and I wobbled a bit.

And in the same area we met these lazy pelicans waiting for a fisherman to feed them. I suspect they are much better at fishing than this man was, but they seemed content to wait for him to catch something and share it with them.

I must thank you for all your lovely comments. I do appreciate that you take the time to not only read my blog, but that you take the time to leave a comment.

Thank you so much,

xoxo

  4. Nice sketch Vicki! I would love to have fruits in the house too but we can never finish them. I resort to yogurts instead but today I bought some apples.

  5. You made me laugh with your notes! Lovely animals, and so lazy too! haha! I feed cats over here, 7 street cats... They came over every single day and wait even hours for a few pieces of fish. It's like you said, I know they can caught more food by themselves, but they love our's...
