I did make a quick sketch on Friday evening while waiting for a video to load. It is one of my very favorite birds who used to come and visit in the creek in my back yard. I haven't seen him yet this Spring.
The video I was waiting for was one of the 10 in the series for the Pear-ology class I am taking with Martha Lever. What fun and I am learning so much. I haven't tried it with real watercolor yet - I am planning to do that after my morning exercise class, but I have tried it digitally. The first attempt I made using the Sketchbook app.
I couldn't figure how to blend the edges so they wouldn't have hard edges, but I like it anyway. |
My second attempt was with ArtRage and I am much happier with it. Even in both cases, I forgot to add the shadow.
I hope to make an attempt (or 2 or 3) with watercolor on 140# cold press paper later today and am looking forward to sharing them with you tomorrow.
I hope you had/are having a wonderful Easter/Passover holiday, and that you are making time for yourself and your creativity.
xoxo

Lovely sketch and awesome artwork using digital apps =)
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketch of the heron! We get them around here too and even though I've seen them around forever, I am still always amazed at how those spindly legs can hold them up! Love the pears and actually, I really like the graphic quality of the one without blending!
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch and I like both of your pears. Sounds like good fun!
ReplyDeleteYou've gotten so good with that pad - it's amazing! Your heron looks good, but will look even better in a couple of days! lol hugs, nancy
