More Pix from the Weekend and Perspective Practice

I have a couple of pictures I'd like to share with you from the weekend. I love it when an evening photo turns out to be almost a silhouette.

And this is a picture of me sketched by Miss 3. I believe that is a grass skirt and I am hula dancing.

I am still practicing perspective drawing. I know I should be drawing the perspective lines to a point before I start, but I am stubborn and am hoping to get better at it without the actual drawing of lines. I think these may be better than my last attempts, but I still have a long way to go.

I liked this one better before I added the color.

I've had my coffee and did my half hour on the treadmill, so I think I deserve a bit of breakfast. I need to do a bit of house cleaning (yecccch!) today, but hope to find time to play in my art room as well.

  1. These buildings...are they drawn from life in your area? Or are they images from the internet, mags, etc?

Go ahead and be stubborn...it's your drawing! Do them any which way you want. HA

The last drawing...I kinda like the wonkiness of it. A little bit of color might be nice too...just a hint, not fully colored in.

  2. Hi Joan,

I don't think I have your new email addy. I mostly use pix from the internet that I find using the search term, "artist reference photos".

    I appreciate your comments,

    xoxo

  3. You're getting better and better with perspective! And the treadmill ..... I haven't used mine in an age, for obvious reasons. I don't miss the treading, but I miss how I feel afterwards. hugs, nancy
