Good Monday Morning

Or at least it is now; I just got off the treadmill and the internet is working, but wasn't again this morning. A technician is coming out on Thursday morning and until then my access is spotty at best.

I had a wonderful experience at the Repurposed Book Class on Saturday and it was such a pleasure to finally meet Camilla in person. She was a great addition to the studio and made a lovely book. She and Kip and I gutted books, folded signatures, sewed them together and then chose from a wide selection of wallpaper samples for our endpapers. Kip was working on a second book by the time I left. Overachiever!!! (grin)

Here are a few pix of our work. I'm sorry I didn't get more pix in progress including the people at work, but I was making a book as well as instructing.

I love it that Camilla incorporated some pink into her signatures.

Don't you just adore this leaf pattern?

And the rocky pattern is a good go with.

Isn't Kip a wonderful stitcher??

Isn't that the cutest painted rock - I used it to weight the book while the endpapers dried.

You gotta love the endpaper choices.

I did just a little work on my watercolor wip and intend to add to it today. For now I just used a damp brush and a paper towel to even out some of the color in the tower and sky.

I think it is a little better than the last time I showed you.

I am ready now to go on to add a bit of green to some of the trees. I will share my progress tomorrow.

Meanwhile I am working on a new book design. I hope to make some progress on the design today and will share what I develop tomorrow as well.

Thank you to all of you who take the time to read my blah, blah, blah, and especially those of you who take the time to make comments and leave lots of helpful insights. I don't really know what I would do without you. I feel pretty sure I would have given up on being an artist long ago without your support.

xoxo

  8. Sounds like the class was a roaring success...good looking books and end papers...will you do it again?

Looks like the watercolor is coming along...Yellow is a tough color to work with...can be overpowering.
