Yesterday while trying out my new Olfa rotary cutter, I slipped and cut a sizeable chunk out of my left middle finger. It bled all afternoon and the hubster finally took me to ER around 9 pm. The PA was pretty sure that a few stitches would be needed. She began by giving me two very painful shots in the lower end of that finger to make a block. She called it a "dummy" finger. When she finally was able to remove the gauze the hubster had dressed it with, it was discovered that the flap of skin had been completely cut off. They tried applying pressure to stop the bleeding, but after 15 or 20 minutes without success, they applied a gel something or other and that worked. They sent me home with a gauze tube over it and told me I could remove it tonight and that it should have clotted. Needless to say, I am a little anxious about removing the dressing.
On a lighter note, I was able to spend a couple of minutes in the side yard drawing a fence for EDiM #13 before the bugs found me. Here it is:
I know this is a short post, but typing with one hand is really frustrating.
