Back Home and Ready to Go To Work

I'm back from my Mom's where I had a wonderful visit. It is beautiful here - the tulip tree (a relative of the magnolia) is in full bloom, the birds are singing and I just had coffee with the hubster in the swings in the side yard - does life get any better than that???

I had a lovely package when I returned this morning. My papers came from Paper Mojo. I don't remember who told me about them (I read about them on someone's blog), but I am so pleased with them. I got this lovely selection of paper for less than $40 including shipping. I just know they are going to be getting a lot of my business.

Aren't these beautiful?

I am behind in EDiM, I will draw a clock today. While I was waiting for my Mom and my sister at the casino, I drew a fireplace with a fire in it in the lobby. I will add a bit of color and that will be my something with flames. Then I just have to draw today's "bowl" and I will be all caught up. Boy I've been trying really hard to do one each day, but it is much harder than I thought. Especially while away from home visiting.

On Saturday Mom and I went to Hope House, a second hand store in St. Ignace, where I found a handful of lovely books to repurpose. How do you like these?

I'm anxious to get more journals made.

This evening both the Tigers and the Red Wings are playing, so I have some sports to watch. That means that I'd better use my daylight hours wisely.

I hope to see you tomorrow with lots to share.

I thought I should answer some of the questions that get asked in comments, so here goes:

Camilla - thanks for the tip about the fixative; and the weather in the UP was beautiful, but chilly.

Sandy - the watercolor pencils (used dry) weren't at all difficult to use over pan pastels.

Joan - it takes me four hours to drive to Mom's if I drive straight through. On a weekday morning, the traffic is mostly light once I get north of Lansing.

Here is the list for Every Day in May:

101 - Draw a bar of soap
102 - Draw a power plug
103 - Draw some exercise equipment - what you use to stay fit.
104 - Draw some salt and pepper shakers
105 - Draw some scissors
106 - Draw something tart or sour
107 - Draw how you get your news - at a newsstand, vending box or on your porch

109 - Draw a clock you have around your house
110 - Draw something with a flame or flames

117 - Draw something round
118 - Draw some hair
119 - Draw some rocks
120 - Draw a flashlight

  2. is that a vintage Nancy Drew I see?! That will make such a cool journal! And I love the cover with the tulips on it, too :)

I scored some cool finds at Salvation Army, but it never occurred to me to put a photo on my blog. Maybe I will:) One of mine is a an old Lutheran hymnal from 1941! The inside is inscribed "page 277 my favorite Hymn I hear the voice of Jesus say." Isn't that cool?!
