EDM, Purple Finches Colored Pencil Sketch and A Giveaway

It is quite late in the day for me to be just posting to my blog, but it has been a very full day and I've been on the run. I had an appointment in Jackson at 10 this morning and then spent a couple of hours with ZoĆ« (and my son, of course) cooing, babbling, and feeding a bottle, before heading for Mason and a hair cut. From there I went to Goodwill where I had the good fortune to find a Fisher-Price Spacesaver Highchair that can double as a baby seat. On the way home I stopped at Meijer's where I got fresh whitefish for the hubster to grill for dinner;  fresh romaine, cucumbers, mushrooms and dried cherries for a salad as a side dish; and a selection of frozen veggies from which to choose.

I got home just in time to get the groceries put away before a young man arrived to be tutored in Precalculus. I am now waiting for the young man who lives across the street to call so he can come over to be tutored in Algebra and am taking this little hiatus in my day to post.

I have a couple of things to show you. I did a quick (I mean really quick) sketch of a turtle for EDM 207 just now,

and I also have a card I made using colored pencil of a purple finch and his Mrs. that I am sending to my sister Margaret.

I am having a giveaway either to celebrate closing in on 60,000 visitors or for no reason at all except that at the watersoluble media class I took with Kristy Kutch one of the goodies was a tin of 12 Derwent Inktense pencils and I already have that exact set. If you are interested in winning this wonderful goodie, just leave a comment on this post before my early morning post on Monday, June 13. That means that you should probably leave your comment sometime before late Sunday night.

This is an unopened tin of pencils that retail for somewhere in the neighborhood of $25. Good luck!!!!

And now I think I'd better get a move on and get the salad made for dinner and hope my student doesn't call until after dinner now that it is already 6:15. The Tigers are on at 8 this evening and I am hoping to be in the living room watching and am hoping for a win similar to last night. Go Tigers!!!

  10. I am a new EDM member and just popped in to check out your latest work. Love the turtle. So simple yet still has a 3D feel. And I would love to be included in your give away drawing. I have been looking at the Inktense pencils but haven't bought them yet.

  11. Ooh, I'm entering! I don't have watercolor pencils - I have some of the watercolor crayons by Staedtler but they have to be used a little differently than pencils would be.

Love the card, by the way. Great contrast in the colors.
