Shopping, EDM 210 and Value Study WIP

I cannot believe the success of the shopping trip yesterday. I think I told you how much I hate shopping and about the odds that tears would be involved. Imagine my surprise - in the second batch of dresses I took into the dressing I found not one, but two dresses that were perfect for me and fit as though tailored just for me. I've found pix of them online but they were very small. I've tried to upsize them so you can see what they look like:





I bought a pretty black and white scarf to wrap around my shoulders.



I bought a white scarf to wrap with this one.


And believe it or not - this gal who has only worn sneakers, crocs or other flat slip ons for about 4 years purchased some really snazzy shoes to go with these dresses. I think I will probably have to practice walking in them before I actually go out in public with them.




The best thing about the whole trip. I bought everything at Younkers for less than $200 total including taxes. Who would ever have guessed!!!!!


Last night I stayed up until 2 am so that I could download Donna Downey's Pan Pastels 101 video class. And then I had to watch it, so finally made it to bed around 3:30. If you have a few pan pastels or would like to learn more about them and how to use them, Donna is a good teacher with a friendly, natural style.


This morning I got up and drew a pair of my panties for the "draw some underwear" EDM challenge. I never would have guessed I would be talking about or exhibiting a drawing my unmentionables online!!??







And last, but not least, I've added a bit of tone to my value study WIP and would appreciate any comments/suggestions - watercolorpencilbuddies - are my shadows more believable???

    I hate shopping too. Usually my daughter pre-scouts the stores for me so I have a limited exposure to it! Pretty dresses but they still wouldn't get me into shoes as high as the ones you bought!

    Your shadows look believable to me but I'm not a detail person so hopefully someone else will chime in.

    Love the dresses and the shoes are killer! I've always loved wedgies. But do practice walking about in them indoors...we don't want to hear about any twisted ankles!

    The shadows look good.

    I thought I'd left a comment on this post, but since it isn't here, I must not have. Anyhow, the dresses are wonderful and you will look terrific in them. As for the shoes, very stylish, but for me, dangerous (having almost broken my neck in a pair with soles like that over 30 years ago! hugs, nancy

    Great panties. Honestly Vicki, you have more guts than I do. ;-) I like the chair study too. I think the shadows look good. I would just continue to expand the values throughout the entire piece. :-)
